Impressive William IV mahogany bookcase c.1835. Glazed bookcase top fitted with three adjustable shelves (depth 10″). Base with two large drawers over a two door cupboard with a single shelf inside. Striking design with plain lines and none of the usual applied carved detail. With highly figured mahogany veneers across the front and sides. Slim moulded cornice (repeated at the top of the base), elegantly arranged glazing bars with crossbanded surrounds and a fine pair of turned and tapering columns flanking the lower cupboard doors. Raised on the original turned bun feet front and rear. Excellent colour and condition with a few minor repairs to the veneers, cleaned and waxed in our workshops. Keys supplied.
