This is an attractive and superb quality antique William IV mahogany side table, circa 1830 – 1840, stamped “Kerby, New Oxford Street, London, no. 615”.

This is an attractive and superb quality antique William IV mahogany side table, circa 1830 – 1840. The table is stamped “Kerby, New Oxford Street, London, no. 615” on the top of the drawer which would have been attributable to the cabinet maker of this table. The table features a stunning rich mahogany colour formed from a single piece of mahogany with a thumb moulded edge. Below, sits two working drawers which feature turned mahogany turned knobs. The drawers also feature mahogany drawer linings, which have been hand dovetailed (sign of quality). The table sits on four stunning tapering reeded legs, which terminate on brass collars and brass castors. This table is a truly classic design from the William IV period. All in all, this is a very pretty and superb quality table.
This item would compliment any home, office or library and is ideal as either a library table writing table or desk or even a dressing table. So, don't miss out your chance to own a lovely piece of furniture!
Condition Report
This item is in excellent condition. Importantly, there are no splits to the top (as the top is impressively constructed from a single piece of timber). The hand-dovetailed drawers are in good working order and close flush to the frame. There are nominal old use marks to the leading edges but nothing significant considering the age of the item. Free of woodworm, solid in joint and ready to use.
