A good small sized antique William and Mary period carved panelled oak coffer dating from circa 1690. Beautifully carved with good colour and patina, the triple panel hinged lid carved with lozenges and foliate uprights, the front carved with guilloche and flowerhead roundels, on stile supports.

In original condition with good patina. Plenty of wear and marks commensurate with age. Old mended splits to top. Carving to lid could be later, possibly 18th century. One baseboard has be renewed. It has lower lateral drawer rails, a later addition which could be easily removed.
