Welsh Pale Oak Chest of Drawers
A beautiful Welsh oak chest of drawers, dating from c1800 to 1820, purchased from a coastal mansion in north Ceredigion. A stunning example in outstanding original condition and of desirable medium size.
Displaying wonderful and highly sought after pale oak colour and stunning patina throughout, with pretty shaped bracket feet this is an example of country craftsmanship at its best. In gorgeous condition with just a couple of age related marks, with just a small notch to the right hand bead and some small shrinkage gaps between the oak boards as is always the case with these beautiful early wide plank examples really adds to its character. The top is lovely and free from stains or ring marks, all drawers are clean and run smoothly and true and it stands sturdy and level, suitable for daily use, family home or holiday cottage and practical for multiple locations around the house.
It measures:
Height 4ft = 121cm. Width 3ft 10” = 110cm. Depth 21” = 53cm
