Late 18th.c. Welsh oak box settle c.1790. Five flat panels to the backrest with moulded detail to the surrounding rails and mullions, between angled rear stiles with curving points to the tops. Straight arms, with similar curving points at the ends, raised on finely turned supports to the front stiles. Board seat lifting on neat little iron hinges to reveal storage inside for boots and shoes etc, the central divider providing extra support for the seat. Oak panelled front, sides and back below to the base. Excellent colour and condition, simply cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
