Welsh 6ft George II Carved Nine Panel Oak Settle
This is a very good quality antique Welsh 6ft 3½” George II nine-panel carved oak panel carved with the date “1726” in the centre panel.

This is a very good quality antique Welsh 6ft 3½” George II nine-panel carved oak panel carved with the initials of “I.M.D.” and “1726” in the carved centre panel. The settle boasts 9 early-carved fielded panels to the raised back. The down swept pegged arms hold in place a freshly upholstered swab cushion seat constructed from cotton and wool which is filled with horse hair in the traditional manner. The swab cushion is removable if preferred. The wooden seat below the swab cushion is constructed of solid pine. The settle boasts turned legs connected with stretchers all round for added stability and strength.
This item would look superb in a variety of rooms from the hallway, dining room or kitchen. This item would certainly grace any home and a great investment, as they are an extremely functional. So don't miss out your chance to own a lovely piece of antique furniture.

The item is in excellent condition and is commensurate with its age. The frame is solid oak and the seat is pine. The swab cushion seat has been freshly re-upholstered in a heavy-duty wool and cotton tapestry filled with traditional horsehair. There is an excellent colour and patination to the timber. There are nominal old use marks to the leading edges and top but nothing significant considering the age of the item. Free of woodworm, solid in joint and ready to use.

If the item is delivered and left with the customer, a return fee will apply (which is the same cost as the delivery fee). We only will collect returns using our own specialist furniture delivery company. We will not accept returns via a courier service (due to experience of damaged items in transit).
