Very handsome mid 19th.c. French walnut semainier chest of drawers c.1860. A little larger than many we see and affording lots of storage without taking up a lot of floor space. Unusual pagoda top over seven drawers of graduated height. Highly figured walnut veneers arranged to make a striking symmetrical pattern across the front. Original gilded brass escutcheons to each drawer, otherwise free of any applied decoration. Raised on a slim moulded plinth with turned bun feet. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops. Two keys supplied.
