French walnut and marble top chest of drawers or commode c.1860. Original white marble top with a rounded edge over four long drawers. Honey coloured walnut veneers arranged in a symmetrical pattern across the front. Shallow top drawer with shaped front (continued on the sides of the cabinet), the three deeper drawers set within a moulded surround. Superb Empire style handles and escutcheons featuring Classical dolphins. Moulded plinth with shaped bracket feet at the front and sides. Solid walnut sides. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
