Wyllie was a well known painter, etcher and aquatint engraver of marine, coastal and river subjects. Born in London, he studied at Heatherly’s and at the R.A. Schools. He lived in Portsmouth and died in London.
This is an interesting etching of the Parthenon in Athens. Wyllie must have toured the Mediterranean in the early part of the 20th century, as there are many different views portrayed as etchings.
