W L Wyllie 'Ships in Line of Battle' signed etching
This superb signed etching is by William Lionel Wyllie (1851-1931).
It shows sailing ships in line of battle. It is newly mounted and backed with acid free paper.
Wyllie was a well known painter, etcher and aquatint engraver of marine, coastal and river subjects. Born in London, he studied at Heatherly’s and at the R.A. Schools. He lived in Portsmouth and died in London.
