We are offering for sale this still life oil on canvas by the Hungarian artist VILMOS MURIN, who has signed the painting 'Murin' in the lower left hand corner. The painting depicts a group of books on a table with a turquoise patterned cloth. One of the books propped up at the back has illustrations, as does the smaller book to the right and both have bookmarks. One top of the smaller book is a posy of flowers. There is a Bohemian goblet, a pair of spectacles and another pile of books to the left. Underneath these objects is a faded and torn parchment with a seal.

VILMOS MURIN 1891-1952 was a Hungarian artist, who specialised in still life and floral paintings. His paintings have been sold in many countries, including Germany, Italy and the USA, as well as Hungary. He died in 1952.
