An elegant antique Victorian x-framed stool in walnut dating from circa 1870. Of rectangular form, the seat upholstered in wool work fabric. With a cushion moulded seat rail, on x-frame shaped legs with ring turned central cross stretcher, the ends with carved roundels. It is solid and sturdy enough to sit on as a dressing table stool or use as a footstool or ottoman. With part paper label underneath for “W. Kettlewell and Sons, Cabinet Makers, Upholsterers, Carpet Warehousemen, 100 Briggate, Leeds.”

Good condition. Solid and sturdy. Good colour and patina. Wear and marks commensurate with age. A few old filled worm holes underneath.
