Victorian Walnut Chaise Longue For Reupholstery
An attractive Victorian walnut chaise longue for reupholstery. We date this chaise to the second half of the 19th century.
The chaise sits on four ornately carved cabriole legs above their castors and has a lovely serpentine front.
The backrest has been overstuffed to form a scroll end and is well padded with a button back design. The scroll front and back have attractive carvings.
The deep seat base has been padded and sprung.
The chaise is upholstered in a dark pink material.
The chaise has an overall height of 34" (87cm) with an overall length of 74" (180cm) and an overall depth of 26" (66cm). The chaise has a backrest height of 18" (46cm), a seat height of 16" (41cm), a seat length of 55" (140cm) and a seat depth of 22" (56cm) at its deepest.
This attractive antique Victorian chaise remains in good solid condition with only minor surface marking commensurate with age and usage. The fabric has quite a bit of wear with some tears and there are some minor indents and wear to some edges of the frame.
This remains a very stylish and elegant Victorian chaise. It is very comfortable and supportive to sit or lie on. With sympathetic restoration it will continue to provide rest and repose for many years to come.
