Good Victorian Walnut and Marquetry Inlaid Display Cabinet

This is a fine quality Victorian walnut and inlaid display cabinet in the Sheraton style. The fielded panel side doors are each inlaid with a paterae containing a lady in classical robes and surrounded by a wreath and trailing foliage. The frieze above the centre door is further inlaid with swags and ribbons and the cabinet is allover inlaid with satinwood crossbanding, boxwood and ebony stringing. The glazed door has wide astragal bars with leaf carvings.

There are brass handles to the doors and drawers and there is also a key. The interior is fitted with shelves and the central section has serpentine shaped shelves and is lined with a green velvet.

Condition
This cabinet is in excellent condition. There are a couple of places near the top where the crossbanded has risen but is still firmly attached, the top surface above the left door has a scratch near the back, and the velvet interior has some plate marks which might brush out. The key is a bit sticky.
