circa 1880 a quality Victorian walnut, burr walnut and inlaid octagonal centre/game table. The top with a very fine chess board inlaid to the centre with amboyna, chequered and geometrical inlays and banding. Further various wood follow the form of the octagonal top, sloping foredge and frieze beneath, with 1 drawer. The whole piece rests on four elegant turned and fluted tapering uprights, intersected by a cruciform burr walnut stretcher with an elegant finial to the centre,all resting on four carved sabre legs, finishing on brown porcelain castors. The table has been re-polished (traditionally).
