This is a very decorative tile, Arts and Crafts in style, which dates from around 1890. The tile, in black and white, depicts Summer and will have belonged to a set which included the other seasons. It depicts a hunt, with hounds upon a stylised handsome stag, with a background of trees and flowers.
The tile measures 6ins by 6ins (15.2 cms) and is in good order save for a nibble to one corner, photographed.
