Victorian Tea Tin

19th century tea canister. The holly green background is a perfect foil for the large gilt numbers on the front, and the gold and black decorative banding.
The condition is medium for this type of tea tin, with much chipping of the surface, but it is generally not dented except for the lid. The label has old layers of re-labelling which has been left. Circa 1870.
Height 46cm (18 inches)
Diameter 26cm (10 1/4 inches)
