Victorian Staffordshire Seasons Figure Of Autumn
A charming Staffordshire figure of Autumn showing a boy squeezing grapes into a cup, c.1850. Wearing a green jacket, pale blue breeches, and with gilt decoration, decorated in the round, he is stood on a naturalistic mound with shredded clay set on a square base. Vent hole to the base.
He measures 7.2cm (6 3/4") high and 6.3cm (2 1/2") wide across the base.
Condition is good he has had a neat repair to his left wrist. No other damage or restoration bar a tiny nick to the back of the base. Some crazing to the base and across the feet. Enamels are nice and bright, minimal handling wear. Payment is accepted by bank transfer, card payments (via an online invoice, I'm afraid we cannot take payments over the telephone), Paypal and UK personal cheque.
