Outstanding Victorian pier cabinet / display cabinet in solid walnut with Ormolu mounts, in excellent condition with only minor marks / scuffs in line with age and use. It's top has amazing burr walnut veneers with superb graining under this is a frieze with foliate and delicate string inlay. The door open to a red velvet interior and comes with working lock and key. This is a very attractive item and is a great size that will display your books or treasures with style.
Pier cabinets intended for use in the entrance halls where they stood in the masonry piers between the windows.
