A very unusual pair of 19th Century cast gilded metal portrait busts of unknown philosophers/gentry. The castings are very crisply cast and probably bronze. The gilding is both matt and polished giving quite a unique appearance. The frames are maple with a gilt inner, the portraits being mounted on black velvet. Condition is excellent.
