This leaf holder matches our superb Scottish Victorian extending dining table, by Wylie & Lochhead of Glasgow and designed in the Gothic Arts & Crafts style. In golden quarter-sawn oak it takes the four leaves from the table and also functions as a serving table or sideboard. With a panelled front and sides, leaf motifs to the frieze and matching spiral turned columns it has doors at both ends which open to reveal green baize lined storage slots for the four leaves. The rear is stamped ‘24970 / Wylie & Lochead / 45 Buchanan Street / Glasgow’.

Both leaf holder and table are in very good condition with a desirable golden honey oak colour and characteristic medullary rays (tiger grain), minor marks consistent with age and use.
