Victorian Minton Majolica Mallard Game Pie Dish

Charming Victorian majolica game pie dish by Minton formed as a woven basket entwined with oak leaves and topped with a rabbit, mallard and a blackbird. Turquoise ground inside to the bowl and lid. Various impressed marks to the base including Minton factory mark, and date cypher mark for 1862.
It measures 33.5cm (13 1/4") long, 20.5cm (8 1/8") wide and 18cm (7") high.
Condition is excellent with no damage or restoration. It would originally have had a liner but there are very few of these fully complete. The lid is not a flush fit but they very often aren't due to small distortions in the shape during the firing of such large amounts of clay and the covers and bowls being fired separately. It would sit slightly better with the support of a liner in situ. Payment is accepted by bank transfer, card payments (via an online invoice, I'm afraid we cannot take payments over the telephone), Paypal and UK personal cheque. If you prefer to pay by Stripe please go to our website where we offer that option and additionally options to "Pay in 30 days" and to pay in 3 instalments, all securely supported.
Price includes UK shipping. Worldwide shipping is also available, please ask for a cost.
We wish to ensure all our customers are happy with their purchases and offer a full no quibble return policy for all items returned within 14 days. We ask that returns are notified within 7 days where possible. Return postage is the buyer's responsibility in terms of cost and safeguarding the item through transit.
