Victorian Metal-Bound Pine Travelling Trunk
This antique travelling trunk looks to date from the late nineteenth century. It is constructed from pine with metal corners and banding. It has the initials E.D. stencilled to either side and an old storage label on the front dated 1908. The trunk has a lift-up lid and retains a lock, but please note that no key is present and that the lock itself is in the locked position so that the lid is resting on the lock teeth. There are metal handles to either side.
Condition: Overall this piece is in usuable condition but does have some heavy wear consistent with age and use. There is some heavy scuffing, grubbiness and wear to the woodwork as might be expected and some scratching and corrosion to the metal banding. There is some marking and scratching to the top. Please note that the lock is in the locked position and the lid is resting on the lock teeth. No key is present.
