This is a very good Victorian two door mahogany fitted wardrobe in a richly coloured mahogany and featuring leaf carvings to the top of the door mouldings. It is in great condition, all the drawers slide easily and are lined with ash wood. For moving and delivery it is easily split into four sections (see below).

It has a moulded cornice above two doors and one long drawer and stands on a plinth base. The doors and drawer are fitted with wooden knob handles, brass catches to the left door and locks to the right door and drawer (although we do not have a key).

The left door opens to reveal a deep hanging section with a brass hanging rail and hook whilst the right side has plenty of storage space with four sliding shelves and two drawers. The internal drawers have brass handles and needless to say the drawers and trays have dovetail joins. Being lined with ash wood the drawers have a slight natural pleasant fragrance. The left section interior has been recovered and we would envisage the new owner would want to remove or change the material.

CONDITION

This is in good condition for its age and has a lovely rich colour. It is very solid, the two sections can be screwed together. It has the usual minor losses/nibbles to the veneer on edges and some old scratches to the polish on the left side next to the hinges. The main handle has been repaired/renewed at some point.
