Victorian Mahogany Extending Dining Table - 14ft
A magnificent English wind-out extending dining table. This large 14ft x 5ft wide dining table stands on six super turned and fluted legs still fitted with their original brass and ceramic castors. It features a double winding mechanism by Joesph Fitter of Birmingham and five leaves which takes it to 14ft but it will extend further to at least 15ft. This was originally a military campaign table which means that if required it can be dismantled and moved or stored relatively easily.
This table does have some minor marks and scratches to the polish work and are offered in original condition.
Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or for more photos, remember to include your email address.
The overall dimensions at the largest points are approximately
Width 435cm long (171 1/4in/14ft 3 1/4in - can open to 15ft)
Depth 151cm (59 1/2in)
Height 72cm (28 3/8in)
Ref 0153
Note Joseph Fitter (b.1842), a Birmingham machinist, applied for a patent for an extending dining table in 1861. Business directories in 1870 list him at Brittania Works, Cheapside, Birmingham.

We cannot describe each marks separately and therefore suggest you do take the time to request extra photos. We do offer a 14 day money back guarantee for UK purchases but cannot refund the return shipping cost.
