A very good late Victorian period writing desk by Gill & Reigate of London. Well constructed in solid mahogany in the style of Thomas Chippendale. The rectangular top is inset with a sumptuous green leather writing surface complete with gilt tooled decorations to the surrounds. With a series of 4 drawers to the front and 4 dummy drawers to the rear such that this desk could be free-standing within a room if desired. All standing on characteristic bold cabriole legs with carved decorations to the knees and terminating in ball and claw feet. Sympathetically repolished in our workshops and now offered for sale in excellent condition, ready to go straight into the home or office.
