A Victorian French walnut and burr maple marquetry inlaid planter. The burr maple has been dyed to contrast with walnut and kingwood cross banding. It stands on four square tapering inlaid legs with a moulded block foot. At the top of each leg there is an ormolu beading.
The top has a scotia moulded edge with an ormolu swept moulding to the centre. there is a removable lid with rococo handles and floral marquetry inlay to the middle.
Inside there is a tin planter. All the sides have a traditional inlay marquetry design cross banded in kingwood. When not being used as a planter you can replace the top and it can be used as a side or hall table.
