This lovely dressing chest dates from c.1890-1900 and is very much in the art nouveau style. It is constructed from solid oak and is of lovely quality. It has a central oak-framed bevel-edged adjustable shaped mirror, with a carved panel and small shelf at either side. Below the mirror is a shaped shelf with to small drawers underneath. The work surface has a bowed front with carved shoulders beneath, and beneath the work surface are two smaller drawers over a single longer drawer. The dressing chest is supported on tapering legs with shaped feet and has a curved lower apron. The drawers retain their superb original arts & crafts copper handles.

Condition: Overall this handsome piece is in usuable condition, but does have some wear consistent with age and use and would benefit from some tlc. The mirror has some water damage the lower edge and back panels, and some pitting to the mirror back. It also has some old woodworm damage to the back panels - this is not active, but has been retreated as a precaution. There are some marks and scratching to the work surface and some general scuffing and wear to the woodwork as might be expected. The piece is overall a little faded. The feet have some wear and damp damage.
