Description:
Here is a fine quality antique English 17th century style Victorian 5ft 7” solid oak kitchen table, ideal for use a refectory or serving table, circa 1850, which seats up to 8 people, in excellent condition. The table top comprises two wide fine quality solid oak planks, displaying stunning rich colour and patination. The Victorian oak kitchen table has been constructed in the traditional manner with mortise and tenon joints, and then pegged, with a straight frieze. The refectory is raised on gun barrel turned legs, on block feet, which are united by a central stretcher along the length of the table, and a further chamfered stretchers on each end. The 17th century style serving table seats between 6 - 8 people (please see photos with chairs around the table). Benefitting from a central stretcher, it allows you to conveniently place kitchen chairs under the table, without any restrictions, unlike earlier antique tables that have stretchers positioned on the outside of the legs, which prevents you placing the chairs under the table. It is also sufficiently tall enough to fit your legs underneath and is sufficiently wide (2ft 6”) to accommodate serving dishes in the centre of the table. This 17th century oak kitchen table is solid constructed and is of excellent quality. Ideal for use as a kitchen refectory table or a serving table in a dining room in a country home or farmhouse.
The Victorian oak kitchen table boasts a rich dark brown oak colour. This Victorian refectory table would look superb in a variety of rooms from the kitchen to the dining room. This item would certainly grace any home. So, don’t miss out on your chance to own a lovely piece of antique furniture.
