A rare opportunity to acquire a 1950s Kigu novelty powder compact - far rarer than the Kigu Spaceship Series. This luxurious compact has a lid decorated with high quality mother of pearl & abalone & it is made to resemble a British football (soccer ball for our American cousins!).
The compact is a superb collector's piece and it has never been used. It comes complete with all the original accessories - box marked '(KIGU CAT. NO. 51/30', the pale grey pouch, adorable pale pink silk topped puff with the gilt triangular Kigu trade mark & sifter. A fabulous addition to any collection or special gift for her. All clasps & hinges work perfectly. The mirror is excellent. The powder well lid & base are decorated with intricate engine turned designs. The inner lid has a central oval cartouche engraved with the triangular Kigu trade mark.
This very beautiful & rare vintage compact measures 21/2 " & weighs 61.7 grams.
