Diminutive early 20th.c. French semainier chest of drawers c.1930. So called because it has seven drawers, one for each day of the week, ideal for clothes, accessories or even filing – the drawers being big enough for sheets of A4 paper. Just 17″ wide, original marble top with shaped and moulded edge over seven serpentine fronted drawers with symmetrically arranged walnut veneers with floral pattern inlays, an inlaid and crossbanded border and ormolu escutcheons. Bombé shaped top, veneered and inlaid sides, shaped apron and feet with ormolu mounts. Excellent condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops. Original key supplied.
