An extremely rare 9 inch dinner plate designed by Vanessa Bell for the 1934 Harrods and Art in Industry \'Modern Art for the Table\' exhibitions.
In 1934 Foley China and Clarice Cliff were asked to produce a range of wares for the exhibitions and notable names such as Paul Nash, Laura Knight, Duncan Grant, Graham Sutherland, Gordon Forsyth, Ben Nicholson and Barbara Hepworth all produced designs. I understand that only 12 sets in each design were produced. This plate unfortunately does have a visible crack but is still a rare and sought after item.
