Unusual Novelty Max Emmanuel Mosanic Pottery Dog
A fun and unusual late 19th/early 20th century French faience pottery pug type dog seated on a circular green base with a striped beach-ball between his front legs and wearing a matching baseball or jockey style cap. Set with glass eyes and decorated against a pale blue ground with dark blue markings to define his face and paws, his body is decorated with a large peacock and scattered floral branches in blues, greens and ochre. Marked to the base "Mosanic", made for the pottery owner Max Emmanuel most likely by the Desvres manufactory based on the style of decoration.
It measures 13.5cm (5 1/4") high, 13.5cm (5 1/4") long and 11.5cm (4 1/2") wide. Condition is very good with just a few minor points: there is a chip under the base and a small chip to the peak of his hat. Some common glaze losses to the nose, under his jaw and a couple of other tiny losses here and there. Payment is accepted by bank transfer, card payments (via an online invoice, I'm afraid we cannot take payments over the telephone), Paypal and UK personal cheque. If you prefer to pay by Stripe please go to our website where we offer that option and additionally options to "Pay in 30 days" and to pay in 3 instalments, all securely supported.
Price includes UK shipping. Worldwide shipping is also available, please ask for a cost.
We wish to ensure all our customers are happy with their purchases and offer a full no quibble return policy for all items returned within 14 days. We ask that returns are notified within 7 days where possible. Return postage is the buyer's responsibility in terms of cost and safeguarding the item through transit.
