Very unusual to find a base of this type with true drawers throughout. Most often encountered as ‘mule’ chests with lift up lids and dummy drawer fronts, this one has all twelve working drawers. Furthermore each drawer features the original and delightfully shaped bone escutcheons, original handles and original drawer linings. With oak panelled sides and bracket feet. The date of manufacture is c.1800. Exellent condition, cleaned and restored in our workshops.
