Bernard Leach link
This is a great piece of Art Pottery, made with Celadon Glaze in the Oriental Style.
It is in Great Condition and stands 27 cm high with a max diameter of 16 cm
A substantial and Impressive Vase by a very Skilful Potter
Stamped with St Ives Pottery Seal and Personal Seal

Trevor Corser was born in Oldham in 1938 and arrived in St.Ives, Cornwall as a young fisherman. However, instead of catching fish, he ended up being a workshop assistant, stacking kilns and packing pots for Bernard Leach. He soon became his apprentice. After Leach's death in 1979, he continued to run the pottery with Leach's widow Janet. After her death in 1997, Corser ran the pottery with another apprentice, Joanna Wason until its closure for refurbishment in 2005. Throughout his career, he has remained loyal to the Leach tradition producing wheel-thrown functional stoneware. While his profile is not as high as earlier Leach apprentices, he is as significant a British potter in his own right.
