This is a gorgeous & highly collectible Stratton "Scone" powder compact showing S S Empress of Britain in minute detail & very gorgeous! The background appears to be foil (metallic gold) and set atop this is the most wonderful enamel scene showing this beautiful ship close up with great attention to detail from the ships tiny windows to the billowing clouds. All clasps & hinges work perfectly. The whole compact is in excellent condition with the original sifter in place. The mirror is excellent & the bezel is signed "STRATTON MADE IN ENGLAND". The inner lid is signed "Stratton". The base is decorated with a fine spiral. This vintage compact measures 3" & weighs 94.1 grams. Free lavishly illustrated history of this piece included.
