Very handsome mid 19th.c. biedermeier chest of drawers c.1830. Almost five feet tall with plenty of useful storage over five large drawers plus a slimmer top drawer. Flared and moulded top with a crossbanded edge. Beautifully figured flame mahogany veneers, arranged in a symmetrical pattern across the drawer fronts (on solid oak groundwork). Decorative brass escutcheon plates and good quality handles cast as laurel wreaths. Rounded front corners, sides and plinth all veneered to match. Oak drawer linings and back board. Some minor repairs to the veneers, otherwise excellent condition and original colour. Cleaned and polished in our workshops.
