Fabulous mid 19th.c. sleigh style daybed or chaise longue c.1840. Six foot long seat with a deep feather filled cushion between high raised ends. Mahogany frame with exceptional carved and pierced fronts to the ends featuring beautifully observed swan’s heads, the necks morphing into a large spiral with Classical papyrus and acanthus detail. Deep plinth base with symmetrically arranged flame mahogany veneers, raised mouldings and shaped feet.
Excellent condition with brand new upholstery, frame has been cleaned and polished in our workshops. Disassembles for ease of delivery.
