Superb Quality Pair of Brass Girandole Mirrors %%alt5%% %%alt6%%
These fine quality brass Girandole mirrors are in the classical Renaissance style and are in superb original condition. The pair were made by the William Tonks and sons company who were brass founders in Birmingham from around 1789. These mirrors can be dated to November 1880 from the registered lozenge cast into the back next to the manufacturers marks. The pair are beautifully detailed with classical cast masks, leaf and scroll detail throughout and wonderful dragon designs as well as each having three projecting candle sconce. These have their original good quality bevelled glass mirrors in lovely clean condition.
A very smart and attractive pair of mirrors from the height of the Victorian aesthetic period.
The mirrors measure 50 cms high by 30 cms wide.
