A wonderful pair of Chippendale period mahogany side chairs. The chairs stand on moulded front legs with a carved rope twist edge and carved scroll brackets. The back is profusely carved and pierced with scrollwork and has a typical Georgian elegance. The seats are overstuffed and have Victorian period needlework covers. The pair are in excellent condition and have a great deep rich period mahogany patina and colour. These are the quintessential English Country house antique C.1770.
