A wonderful quality pair of carved wood, Black Forest, coat racks. The pair are centred around the carved heads of both a Stag and and a Chamois, and they face each other when hanging together. The heads are mounted on a cartouche bound by twigs which make the coat pegs. The carving are of the finest quality and very lifelike, and the overall condition is excellent. It is extremely rare to find a true pair of carvings like this, and interestingly the carvings are signed and dated on the reverse Ragal, June 1891.
