SUPERB 18th century dated Norwegian turned and carved fruitwood tankard. This really is a superb piece of early treen of the most wonderful original colour and patination. The tankard is round in shape with large scroll shape handle terminating in the acorn shape top. The wooden hinge part has carved rosettes to each side. The lid of the tankard has a scratch carving around the edge and is carved all over the dome shaped top. The top is has the date carved into it of 1794 as part of the decoration. The tankard four has carved, shaped feet to the base and also has a carved flower to the underside.

The tankard is in very good for age and is the most wonderful colour with deep patination. There is minor old damage to a couple of the feet.
