This is a stunning Chinese console table of grand scale in solid elm which dates from the mid 19th century. The table has a fabulous look and a wonderful patina to the lacquered finish. This has a shaped frieze and curvacious outswept cabriole legs with scroll toes and is traditionally constructed with peg dowel and cleated joints and hand forged iron nails. The lacquer to the the characterful solid top is in really good servicable order and the rest of the table is in excellent condition. The console is a real eye catcher at 175 cms long and 54 cms deep. It stands 79 cms high and would be fantasic in a room of scale or a large hallway.
