SUPERB and RARE shape 18th century Georgian treen box. Most unusual shape, made of walnut and inlaid with various woods including boxwood and ebony.

Has two lots of initials inlaid on the front and back which would suggest to me a marriage present.

I thought at first it might have been for glasses but it is too big for that.

Wonderful original colour and patination only acheived from years of waxing.
