Superb Antique Mazerine Desk
A stunning freestanding 19th.Century burr walnut and ebony Mazarine desk with good quality ormolu embellishments throughout. Of inverted breakfront form with cross banded top, inset hand dyed black leather writing surface with blind and gold tooling and ormolu edging. The top three drawers having recessed burr walnut panels within ormolu and ebony frames. Below are 2 deep drawers again with burr walnut and ormolu mounts and flanked by turned columns leading to 8 turned and tapering legs which join the walnut & ebony “X “ shaped stretchers with sabots and casters below. The reverse with conforming burr walnut, ebony and ormolu mounts. Condition- Very good. Dimensions:- Height…29’’/ 74cm. Width…41.25’’/ 105cm. Depth…22’’/ 56cm. Kneehole Height…24’’/ 61cm. Delivery to most of U.K. mainland £60.
