A superb and very handsome Victorian burr walnut bookcase.The round cornered top having an attractive moulded cornice with burr walnut frieze above the 2 glazed doors which have carved decorative tops. The doors open to reveal 3 walnut faced adjustable shelves which retain the original tooled leather dust covers. The base of serpentine form with thumb moulded burr walnut top above the frieze leading to 2 burr walnut panelled doors with conforming carved detail and shelved interior. The canted corners having top & bottom well carved corbels and the whole raised on a serpentine shaped plinth base. Condition - Very good with a wonderful patina and complete with working brass locks & keys. Dimensions:- Height…79.25’’/ 201.5cm. Width…33.5’’/ 85cm. Depth…19.25’’/ 49.cm.
