A superb quality 17th century Colonial style cabinet on stand or drinks cabinet stamped ‘Waring & Gillow’.
This consists of a padouk cabinet, the two doors with burr walnut panels and wide padouk crossbanding with finely engraved brass lockplate to the centre and original key with engraved brass decorative corner brackets and hinges, the doors opening to reveal three adjustable shelves.
The cabinet rests on an ebonised Colonial style base consisting of a moulded drawer to the top with two decorative brass handles, the drawer having ‘Waring & Gillow’ stamp and plaque, moulded decoration to the front and sides leading down to four bulbous turned legs, joined with turned stretchers.
