A substantial early 20th.Century George I style and “ Philadelphia” influenced bonnet topped and good quality burr walnut chest on stand. The top having a swan neck pediment with cross grain mouldings, floral carved patrae and centre turned finial. Below are two short over 4 long graduated drawers each having herringbone banding and pierced brass back plate handles & escutcheons. The lowest drawer having an applied stylised carved sun burst and the canted corners having cross banded sides. The base section comprising of a pull out brushing slide above the 2 deep and 1 shallow conforming drawers, all drawers are pine lined and have hand cut dovetailed joints. The whole stands on cabriole legs with carved knees and terminating on claw and ball feet. Condition - very good. Dimensions:- Max.Height: 94”/ 239cm. Width…58’’/ 147.5cm. Depth…25’’/ 63.5cm.
