Stunning Welsh Oak Linen Press c1840
A stunningly beautiful mid 19th Century Welsh Oak Linen Press cupboard of superb quality from the village of Maesycrugiau on the Cardiganshire Carmarthenshire Border in West Wales.
Featuring quality fielded panels and well figured oak throughout, with exceptional surface and colour. A wonderful looking piece offering extensive storage and a wonderful look. A perfect example in the most beautiful original condition.
A family owned piece that we are extremely pleased and most fortunate to have acquired having been in the same family from new, the farm for which this press was originally made having being sold in 1951 and the son taking this press with him to the nearby village of Llanfihangel-ar-arth where he lived until 2017. Pieces with such provenance are a much appreciated rarity and
we believe this Linen Press to be the in the best condition and the most original example for sale anywhere.
