This superb art deco dressing table is an original piece dating from approx. the 1920s. It has stunning veneers, primarily burr walnut and walnut, with half and quarter veneered top surfaces and drawer fronts. The dressing table has a central round bevel-edged mirror, beneath which is an inverted work surface with drawer beneath, flanked on either side by a bank of four graduated drawers. All the drawers retain their original metal and early plastic / Bakalite handles. The lower edges have shaped aprons to the front and sides and the dressing table is supported on shaped feet. It is of heavy construction and superb quality. There are no maker's marks or labels.

Condition Overall this handsome piece is in good usuable condition, with some wear consistent with age and use. There is some light scuffing and wear to the woodwork as might be expected, and some fading, cracking and chipping to the veneers. The mirror uprights appear to have been replaced at some point, and the mirror stay is missing, meaning that although the mirror can be tilted it cannot be kept in position.
